Description
Ria Rudee always wanted to live beyond the walls, but Afflicted like her are never allowed. Those the birthmark appears on will one day transform into giant Spiderlike monsters, called The Dreaded. The Blade Unit, those tasked with killing the Dreaded and hunting any escaped Afflicted, chase Ria when she escapes the compound, bringing her face to face with the Blade Unit cadet Teo Lockwater. Both of their pasts, both of their fears, and both of their futures will be in each others hands whether they trust each other or not.
