The two issues of Phase 7 in this collection act as a companion volume to Alec Longstreth’s graphic novel Basewood. Issue #020 includes all of the lyrics from Songs From the Basewood, a rock opera reinterpretation of Basewood by Andy Hentz and Alec Longstreth, as well as “The Making of Basewood.” Issue #021 tells the story of the “Basewood Beard” that Alec grew during the last three and a half years of Basewood’s creation.
